For St. Paddy

Lucky Print, Clover Print, and Clover Necklace from Etsy.com
This year, I'm doing St. Paddy's day a little differently.  My girls have really gotten into clelbrating every color based holiday since we've been back in the States, and I'm happy to do things that make them happy.  So, I'm lifting my March long ban on wearing green, but no Clovers here, this St. Patrick's day I'm wearing a leaf and acorn print dress of my own creation.  This little emerald gem represents the very last of all my sewing projects.  Since winter began I've completed a dozen skirts and dresses!  Sewing has become my go-to hobby for beating the winter blues, and it's been something to do so I don't fall asleep during two hours of American Ninja Warrior on Friday nights.  Don't get me wrong, I love ANW, I just can't sit through anything on TV for two hours at night without falling asleep.  I need to be busy and sewing clothes has definitely kept me busy.  It's also had the unexpected side benefit of making me very picky about what I buy now.  I want something incredible and I'm not prepared to settle because I know if it comes right down to it, I'll just make what I'm looking for myself.  That's something better than luck, that's empowerment, baby.
